Midwestern Amputee Golf Assn.
The
Midwestern Amputee Golf Association (MWAGA), established in 2001, is an
organization of amputees from Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa, North
and South Dakota. These amputees are interested in using the game of
golf as a vehicle in their physical and mental rehabilitation process.
Competition in sporting events in an outdoor setting, combined with the
fellowship of people in similar situations, has proven to be a
wonderful incentive to help people of all ages and physical challenges
achieve the best life they can enjoy.
MWAGA has contacted the
"Wounded Warriors" program – armed service veterans who lost a limb as
a result of being deployed in the Middle East and other combat areas –
and is inviting some of them come out to Pheasant Run for the first tournament round (Sept. 6) to have lunch, watch amputee golf and see that life
does go on. As as Wounded Warrior amputee, if they would like to play
in the tournament proper on Sept 6 and 7, MWAGA will pay their fee for the
first year. If you'd like to make a donation toward a "Wounded Warrior"
participating in this event, see the box at right. →
